As life, a wine is also the visible result of an infinity of events. Never finished, always evolving. This is how these wines were born at Quinta da Azenha in Colares, in the vineyards of the Osório de Vasconcelos Jardim Gonçalves family.
This is a family project, the result of the desire to continue the memory of generations of wine producers with roots in Madeira and the Douro. And that now extends to the millenary region of Colares, one of the oldest in Portugal whose origin dates back to 1255 when D. Afonso III planted the first vines from France there.
Grown in the seclusion of the Sintra mountain range, the Pinot Noir and Merlot varieties find there a microclimate protected from the Atlantic winds, with dewy mornings and summers tempered by fog.
